WEST BOYLSTON
Edward J. Basiner, 79, died Monday, June 11 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves his wife of 33 years, Barbara L. (Phelps) Basiner; three daughters, Holly Ann (Basiner) Hunt of Shrewsbury, Sharon E. Brackett and her husband William of Boylston and Lynn M. Glick and her husband Michael of No. Grafton; three grandchildren, Christina, Alicia and Jonathan, and a sister, Dorothy Johnson of Pomona, CA.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Edward and Mary (Bruneau) Basiner, graduated from Commerce High School and was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Basiner worked at Reed Rolled Thread and Die Company for 31 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the West Boylston American Legion Post 204 and enjoyed trips to Foxwoods.
The funeral will be held on Friday, June 15 at 11:00 AM at FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston Street, West Boylston. A visiting hour will also be held on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
