Barbara M. White

Worcester- Barbara M. (Ladner) White, 89, of Worcester passed away Tuesday, May 22 with her family by her side in the Jewish Healthcare Center.

Her husband, George W. White, Jr. died in 1974. She leaves four children, Philip White and his wife Deborah of Spencer, Thomas White and his wife Ann Marie of Worcester, Marybeth Gagne and her husband James of Holden and Andrew White and his wife Judy of Rochdale; eleven grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Derek, Brian, Patrick, Christine White, Elise and Patrick Gagne, Timothy, Michael and Dennis White; a great-grandson, Braeden; a sister in law, Nancy White of Worcester and nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Ladner and two sisters, Helen Gilrain and Adele Graham predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Mogan) Ladner and graduated from Commerce High School.

Barbara worked in the Clerk’s Office at the Worcester Superior Courts for many years before retiring, prior to that she worked for the Division of Employment Security. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angles Church, enjoyed traveling through-out the World with her girlfriends, “The Golden Girls”. Barbara had a tremendous love for her husband and family, was proud of her Irish heritage, loved Hampton Beach and her Church.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her neighbors, Marie and Jimmy Donahue for all they have done for her and for watching out for her for all these years. Also, Julie, Martha, Amy and Katie and the entire Hospice Staff and 3rd floor staff at the Jewish Healthcare Center for the dignity and compassion shown to Barbara.

The Funeral will be held Friday, May 25, from CALLAHAN AND FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Thursday, May 24, from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the building fund at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St., Worcester, 01603.
